admin : November 23, 2011 5:10 pm : Uncategorized

The DC METRO BUSINESS LEADERSHIP NETWORK YOUTH TRANSITION & LEADERSHIP Committee continues to make a difference by putting together this year’s second “CONNECT with YOUTH” program. This program offers HR professionals the opportunity to interact with young individuals with disabilities from the Bridges – from School to Work Program (a Marriott Foundation program).

One of the objectives is to provide experience and insight into interviewing a person with a disability. Interview tips and communication etiquette information will be provided in advance. Additional activitieis will include resume review and mock interviews. Those of you who attended the May 2011 program know how valuable an event such as this is for both employers and youth. Pass this on to recruiters in your organization and other networks.

If you would like to attend this program taking place on December 7, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., RSVP no later that December 1, 2011 so that DC Metro BLN can email you an agenda and resumes for review. Light refreshments will be provided. Contact us if you need more information.

Please plan to join us at the new National Youth Transition Center, located in the heart of The George Washington University campus at 2013 H St., NW, Washington, DC 20006 (Foggy Bottom Metro). Parking garage at the Marvin Center is a block away.
